Cabaret star Andrea Marcovicci
shares
her passion for celebrating and preserving the American
popular song and offers an insider's look at the art of
cabaret. Andrea treats viewers to songs from, "I’m Feeling
Like a Million: A Salute to the Incomparable Hildegarde,"
and her new album, "My Christmas Song For You."

Acclaimed cabaret performer Andrea Marcovicci
celebrates her 20th anniversary season, performing at New
York City's famous Algonquin Hotel Oak Room in her latest
show, I'm Feeling Like a Million: A Salute to the
Incomparable Hildegarde from now through January 13th.
In this centenary salute to Hildegarde, the "First Lady of
Supper Clubs," Andrea tells the story of a plucky girl
from Milwaukee who became the toast of cafe society from
New York to Paris. Andrea is joined on the piano by
musical director Shelly Markham and Jered Egan on bass.
An accomplished actress and cabaret performer whose
work has changed the landscape of the genre, Andrea
continues to entertain sold-out audiences from coast to
coast whenever touring her many critically lauded shows.
Utilizing themes to give her shows a beginning, middle,
and end, her recent shows include I Am Anne Frank,
I'll Be Seeing You...Love Songs of WWII, Kurt
Weill in America, and the upcoming Thanks for the
Memories: The Lyrics of Leo Robin, debuting in 2007. A
Recording of I'll Be Seeing You... is also slated
in 2007, as is a reprise of her I Am Anne Frank
show.
Andrea has fourteen CDs to her credit, including her
latest release, My Christmas Song for You, which
deubuted just in time for the 2006 Holiday season. Other
favorites include Andrea Sings Astaire, How's
Your Romance? Andrea Marcovicci Sings Cole Porter and
If I Were A Bell ~ The Songs of Frank Loesser,
debuted on her own record label, Andreasong.
Andrea began her career on the daytime television
series Love Is A Many Splendored Thing. She made
her Broadway debut in Ambassador and most recently
appeared in Any Given Day with Sada Thompson. Other
notable stage appearances include playing Ophelia opposite
Sam Waterson in a production of Hamlet at
Shakespeare in the Park. Her film credits include: The
Front (nominated for a Golden Globe Award) with Woody
Allen, The Hand, The Stuff, The
Canterville Ghost and Jack the Bear.
Her concert work includes appearances with the San
Francisco Pops, Florida Philharmonic, and Oregon and Ft.
Worth Symphonies. Her 1993 Carnegie Hall solo debut, with
the American Symphony Orchestra, was to a sold-out
audience. Andrea has also appeared at nightclubs across
the country, including the Gardenia and The Cinegrill in
Los Angles, The Plush Room in San Francisco, The Colony in
Palm Beach, FL., Le Chat Noir of New Orleans, and many
others. Her London cabaret debut in 1994 sold out a one-
month engagement at the Music Room at Pizza on the Park.
She has also performed at the White House, teaches Master
Classes on the art of cabaret in several cities, and
teaches a week-long summer workshop at the Perry Mansfield
Performing Arts Camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
She is the recipient of several awards and honors,
including three Lifetime Achievement Awards - from
Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), the
Licia Albanese - Puccini Foundation, and a Bob Harrington
Backstage Bistro Award. In recognition of her
accomplishments in the arts, Andrea has received honorary
degrees from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and the
Memphis College of Art.
