Glory Days Opens On Broadway 5 Months After Its Off-Broadway Creation

Producers John O'Boyle and Rick Stevens' coming-of-age musical Glory Days opens at the Circle In The Square Theatre on May 6. The show began previews on April 22.

The show concerns "four high school friends reuniting one year after graduation to discover how dramatically their lives have grown apart. While they attempt to reconnect and understand each other’s differences, nothing can compare to the glory days of high school when life was simpler and all appeared right with the world."

Glory Days has experienced a whirlwind journey to Broadway, debuting only four months ago at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, closing a month later, then getting tapped for a Broadway run only one month after that.

Not a bad accomplishment for its 23-year-old creators, lead actors, and real-life high school buddies Nick Blaemire (music and lyrics) and James Gardiner (book). (And by "not bad", we mean "Frighteningly, blindingly, astonishingly good".)

Glory Days features Steven Booth, Andrew C. Call, Adam Halpin and Jesse JP Johnson, who originated their roles in the show at the Signature Theatre.
